About the role:
We are looking to appoint a caring, committed, and proactive Pastoral Care Co-ordinator to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield. This is a full-time position commencing in September 2026 and running until January 2027. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to secure a permanent role following an initial period on a supply basis.
As a Pastoral Care Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and overall school experience. Working closely with staff, students, and families, you will help create a positive and inclusive environment where young people can thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Promote positive behaviour and support the implementation of effective behaviour management strategies, including restorative practices.
- Monitor and encourage excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers to support student wellbeing and achievement.
- Deliver targeted interventions and support for vulnerable students.
- Contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes in line with school policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of student support, interventions, and outcomes.
- Experience working with young people aged 11-16, ideally within a secondary school environment.
- A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and student wellbeing. - The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, counselling, safeguarding, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
