Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant Jobs  | Up to £120 Per Day

Hays Education is seeking resilient, dedicated, and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistants to support schools and specialist education settings across Sheffield. These opportunities involve working with secondary-aged students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges, offering rewarding roles for candidates who are confident, caring, and committed to making a positive difference.

💼 What You'll Be Doing:

🌱 Supporting secondary-aged students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges to re-engage with learning.
🧠 Working across a range of Sheffield schools and specialist education settings, including environments focused on behaviour support, emotional regulation, and personal development.
🤝 Providing targeted one-to-one or small-group support tailored to individual needs.
📝 Assisting with classroom routines, behaviour de-escalation strategies, and day-to-day learning activities.



What We're Looking For:

Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or additional support needs.
A background in care or support roles, such as social care, youth work, mental health support, health and social care, or similar.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach, particularly in challenging situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
