Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a Whole Class Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of welcoming primary schools throughout Sheffield.

This Whole Class Teaching Assistant opportunity focuses on providing general classroom support rather than being assigned solely to one pupil. Working as a Whole Class Teaching Assistant in Sheffield, you will support teachers and pupils across a range of year groups and help create positive and engaging learning environments.

Position: Whole Class Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

Working as a Whole Class Teaching Assistant in Sheffield, you will provide general classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 depending on school requirements.

The Whole Class Teaching Assistant role in Sheffield may involve supporting whole-class activities, working with small groups and providing additional help to individual pupils where needed. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of primary schools throughout Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general whole-class support
• Assist teachers with learning activities and classroom routines
• Support small groups and individual pupils where required
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
• Help with classroom organisation and preparation
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or childcare setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Positive, patient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
