Connex Education is supporting a mainstream secondary school in Sheffield to appoint a Music Teacher for an ASAP start. This full-time, long-term role is a strong opportunity for a qualified teacher who can take on the full responsibilities of a teacher timetable, with a potential longer term option for the right candidate.

You will be teaching Music within a mainstream secondary school environment, delivering lessons as part of the curriculum. The school is seeking a specialist who can confidently manage a full timetable and contribute positively to the department. Candidates with an Music specialism are ideal and the school are open to ECT’s or experienced teachers.

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across the required secondary age range.
• Take responsibility for a full teacher timetable, including planning, marking and assessment.
• Support pupils’ progress through clear instruction, feedback and high expectations.
• Contribute to the department and wider school community.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Follow school policies, procedures and safeguarding expectations at all times.

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• IT teaching experience for at least one full term.
• Experience working in a classroom environment or a similar education setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
• A current DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for a new enhanced DBS.
