Teacher of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Range 0.52 Temporary Contract 1 January 2027 to 31 August 2027

We have a vacancy for aconfident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified applicant for the post of teacher ofPSHE, to join successful departments from January 2027.

The successful candidate will:

• be an excellent PSHE teacher across the full age andability range
• have a passionate commitment to making PSHE stimulating and relevant for all
• be familiar with the programmes of study for PSHE acrossall the key stages
• bring real energy and dynamism to the role, alongside genuine enthusiasm for your subject
• be a skilled ICT practitioner and be comfortable usingdata to inform planning and intervention
• have the calibre and ambition to develop his or her careerin and beyond this post
• be willing to contribute to raising the profile of PSHEacross the School

PSHE is taught by a trained, dedicated and supportive team at King Edward VII School. It is highly valued by students and the Leadership Team.

Students progress through core topics of equality, citizenship, relationships,safety and mental health through Key Stages 3, 4, and Key Stage
5. The candidate will be skilled in facilitating a space for critical thinking,philosophical inquiry and be a self-aware, compassionate individual.

The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997. Thispost is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate. As thepost will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence toapply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held bythe DBS.

Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are “protected”. These are not subject to the disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the ministry of justice website or see here.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions andthose that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview. You maybe asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process.
