1:1 SEN Tutor - S1 Sheffield
Location: S1, Sheffield
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: £25 - £30 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 SEN Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the S1 area of Sheffield
. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition during weekday school hours
, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve their academic goals.
You will work closely with learners who may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties
, adapting lessons to meet their individual requirements and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support students in core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science where required.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs.
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons that promote engagement and progress.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
- Encourage student confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
- Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.
- Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies.
- Flexible part-time hours during school hours on weekdays.
- Competitive pay of £25 - £30 per hour.
