Music Tutor

Sheffield Music Hub, a Sheffield City Council service, is recruiting nine additional salaried music tutors on term-time contracts. The work is teaching children and young people through specialist lessons, whole-class sessions and ensemble direction. Vacancies cover drums, piano and keys, rap and production, vocals, woodwind and guitar, with 1 to 4 days a week agreed with the hub, mostly in school hours and some evening work.

Successful candidates must complete pre-recruitment checks before starting in January or February.

• Deliver specialist instrumental and vocal lessons
• Teach whole classes
• Direct ensembles
• Deliver work during the school day
• Undertake some activities outside school hours, including possible evening work
• Contribute to developing inclusion and progression opportunities for young musicians

• Experience as a musician or music educator

• Skill in at least one listed area: drums, piano and keys, rap and production, vocals, woodwind or guitar
