Equipment Engineer – Sheffield
I’m hiring an Equipment Engineer to support the full lifecycle of production machines at a growing manufacturing site. The team is expanding, and this role will shape how new equipment is designed, installed, and supported.
The role sits within an equipment engineering function that drives how manufacturing equipment is defined and delivered. You will help create concepts and specifications, work with other teams to solve technical problems, and guide equipment through its full journey from idea to installation. You will support upgrades, check performance against expected targets, and help build clear documentation and maintenance plans. The work also includes technical support for engineering changes and making sure all equipment meets safety rules, regulatory standards, and ergonomic needs.
A big part of this job is understanding how equipment should work on the shop floor. You will investigate new ideas, review designs, and look at new technology that could improve production. You will define technical requirements, prepare statements of work for suppliers, maintain equipment records, and help decide what to do with older assets. You will also take part in design reviews and support users so equipment runs well day to day.
