We are recruiting multiple Process Engineers (Water) for a major 10‑year framework in the Northwest of England. This programme involves optimising and delivering water infrastructure projects for United Utilities, focusing on best value, lowest carbon, and cost.
About The TeamRPS Water Consulting is a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts. We support business planning and delivery for water industry clients through asset management and operational strategy.
About YouAs a Process Engineer (Water), you will lead technical delivery, support optioneering, outline and detailed design, and work closely with a range of capital projects across wastewater infrastructure.
Your Responsibilities- Operate independently and as part of a team on production, verification, review, and approval of raw water envelope, influent characterisations, process performance reports, and design calculations.
- Provide process optimisation and advisory services for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and infrastructure.
- Take on the role of Process Designer for multi‑disciplinary projects, utilising digital design methodologies.
- Identify and develop innovative technical solutions aligned with client requirements, including collaboration with laboratories and software teams.
- Coordinate and lead multi‑disciplinary team efforts across process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA disciplines.
- Maintain relationships with clients and partners, addressing technical, commercial, and progress matters.
- Ensure compliance with technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Capture critical project knowledge and champion the Process team internally and externally.
- Technical execution of process plant systems in complex water industry engineering projects.
- Experience in digital design methodologies for design and construction.
- Leadership and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Background in the water and/or wastewater sector.
- Preferably a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Preferably affiliation with a professional institution such as IChemE or CIWEM, or in the process of applying for membership.
