A well-established and highly respected heavy engineering firm based in Sheffield is currently recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to strengthen their on-site maintenance team.

The Role of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical fault finding, maintenance, and repair on heavy industrial machinery
Planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment
Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, and rotating machinery
Responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Working closely with electrical engineers and production teams
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

The Ideal Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Apprentice-trained or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
Strong mechanical fault-finding experience in an industrial or heavy engineering environment
Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Welding or fabrication skills advantageous but not essential
Background in heavy engineering, manufacturing, steel, foundry, or similar sectors
Willingness to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern
