Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

I am pleased to present an opportunity for a Mechanical Supervisor based in South Yorkshire to work for a prestigious organisation.

This position can be offered both on a temp-to-perm or permanent basis. The rate would be £250 a day via umbrella or CIS.

• Supervise a team of mechanical maintenance technicians, allocating and prioritising work to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.
• Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities, maintaining accurate records within the Planon system.
• Provide technical guidance, problem-solving support, and mentoring to team members to ensure high-quality and timely completion of work.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with current legislation, technical standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Assist in planning and managing preventative maintenance programmes to meet operational and compliance standards.
• Manage parts and consumables, ensuring appropriate stock levels to support efficient maintenance operations.
• Support coordination of staffing matters including leave, sickness, and performance monitoring to maintain adequate team coverage.
• Carry out diagnostics and mechanical maintenance on systems such as HVAC, compressors, pressure systems, steam generation, and gas installations, including required testing and certification.
• Liaise with contractors and departmental contacts to ensure work is completed to required standards, within timescales, and with clear communication on progress.
