We’re hiring a Workshop Technician to join a hands-on engineering team creating advanced scientific instruments used in cutting-edge biomedical and research environments.
This is not a routine assembly job, it’s a practical role where you’ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and customers to ensure high-performance systems are built, tested, repaired, and continuously improved.
Responsibilities- Build and test electromechanical scientific systems from the ground up
- Diagnose faults, repair instruments, and keep equipment running at peak performance
- Support field servicing and customer installations (including occasional international travel)
- Create workshop tools, jigs, and fixtures to support faster, smarter production
- Take ownership of stock, parts organisation, shipping, and workshop flow
- Collaborate with R&D and design teams to improve future builds and processes
This role is ideal for someone who’s naturally practical, curious, and enjoys solving real-world mechanical and electrical challenges.
You’ll thrive if you have- Strong hands-on skills and confidence using tools
- Experience assembling or repairing electromechanical products
- The ability to read wiring schematics, procedures, and engineering drawings
