The business designs, engineers and manufactures high-quality equipment in the UK, known for reliability, practicality and performance. They are now seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to help shape the next generation of products.
The OpportunityThis is a key role within the R&D function, working on power electronics, embedded systems and motor drive technologies. You will lead projects, mentor engineers and play a pivotal role in delivering robust, production-ready designs for high-volume manufacture. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a forward-thinking, innovation-led manufacturer.
What You'll Be Doing- Lead and contribute to the design and development of electronic systems for volume manufacture
- Drive and support project delivery with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness and best practice
- Design embedded and power electronic solutions, including motor control technologies
- Undertake schematic capture, PCB layout, testing and evaluation using lab equipment
- Ensure compliance with EMC/EMI standards and relevant safety regulations
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to engineer optimised solutions
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and continuous improvement across the team
- Degree-qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar)
- Strong experience in embedded and power electronic design
- Knowledge of microprocessors, analogue and digital design, actuators and motor control
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer advantageous)
- Hands-on testing and evaluation experience
- Experience designing for EMC compliance and relevant standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers
- Experience with Solid Works and LTSpice would be beneficial.
