An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven individual to join our Quality team as a Quality Engineer within McLaren Composite Technology Centre in Sheffield. Purpose of the role:
In this capacity, your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:§ Quality Engineer responsible for composite projects & component delivery at the Sheffield facility§ Creation and maintenance of quality systems and documentation to support new and on-going activities§ Creation and leadership of validation frameworks & activities for new products and processes with cross-functional teams§ Provide dedicated Quality Engineering support for allocated project / area through product lifecycle§ Develop Quality metrics, drive implementation and report results to the Leadership team§ Support the team in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using a Practical Problem-Solving approach§ Lead the application of Quality tools (such as PFMEA, SPC and MSA) in the allocated area§ Liaise with Supplier Quality for incoming material issues§ Support the development of measurement techniques for new products§ Apply analytical skills and judgement to generate solutions to technical challenges§ Deliver all aspects of Quality Engineering activities in line with targets, KPIs and milestones
Knowledge, skills & experience:§ Strong knowledge & demonstrable experience with Quality Engineering skills, including PFMEA, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis and auditing to established quality standards§
Experience of compiling PPAP documentation & associated validation activities is essential§
Experience of composite production is highly desirable§ Experience in automotive manufacturing is advantageous§ Knowledge of Automotive quality systems is advantageous§
Experience of niche vehicle (low volume) programmes desirable§
Experience of manufacturing using fabrics desirable§ Excellent communication and I.T. skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)§
Experience of Minitab software is desirable§
Experience of Polyworks, Dataloop, Modus, Trios and SAP desirable but not required
