Senior Storage Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Engineer with Storage infrastructure knowledge that typically includes all storage devices, storage servers, and network elements that intersect with the rest of the overall IT technology infrastructure.

As the Storage Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, architecture, design, and implementation of the bank’s enterprise storage solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring the bank’s data is stored, managed, and protected with the highest standards of reliability, performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with senior management, IT leadership, and cross‑functional teams to develop and execute a robust storage strategy that aligns with the bank’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain the long‑term strategy for storage infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the bank’s overall IT and business strategies.
• Function as a subject‑matter expert and advisor on all matters related to storage technologies, providing guidance to senior leadership and IT teams.
• Lead the design and architecture of the bank’s storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, object storage, and cloud‑based storage systems.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of storage systems to meet the bank’s growing data needs.

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of enterprise storage solutions.
• Ensure effective data protection strategies, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery, are in place and regularly evaluated.

• Continuously monitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, and utilization.
• Lead initiatives to automate storage management tasks and improve operational efficiency.

• Ensure storage systems comply with industry regulations and internal security policies.
• Collaborate with the security team to implement robust data encryption, access controls, and other protective measures.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in storage, evaluating and recommending innovative solutions as appropriate.
• Help address skill gaps in Storage pods by providing upskilling/training opportunities.
• Support the Platform Lead and identify solutions to engineering gaps/challenges.
• Facilitate development of cross‑functional capabilities to address common gaps/challenges.

• Deep knowledge of SAN, NAS, object storage, and cloud storage technologies.
• Expertise in storage virtualization, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Proficiency in storage management tools, automation, and scripting.
• Strong understanding of data protection, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in the financial industry.
• To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in storage engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role within the financial industry.

Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing large‑scale enterprise storage solutions.
