This organisation continues to invest heavily in its facilities and has successfully doubled turnover in recent years. They specialise in a wide range of forging processes, including open‑die radial, press, hammer, ring rolling, closed‑die extrusion, drop stamp, and blade forging. With comprehensive on‑site capabilities, they deliver a fully integrated metals service from raw material through to final machining and testing.

About the Role The Metallurgist will be responsible for managing hot material conversion processes and developing effective production routes across a variety of titanium, nickel, and iron‑based alloys. You will prepare methods of manufacture, review and finalise works route cards, and work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal production and quality teams.
This role is integral to driving product and process optimisation, supporting cost‑reduction activities, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑integrity forged components across multiple sectors, including aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine, and oil & gas.

Key Responsibilities
Manage, monitor, and provide expert advice on hot material conversion.
Design, prepare, and validate production/manufacturing routes.
Prepare and review works route cards (draft and final).
Develop methods of manufacture for a range of alloy grades.
Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters.
Support customer audits and respond to technical inquiries.
Investigate non-conformance issues and work with Production and Quality teams to implement corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement, process optimisation, and cost‑reduction initiatives. About You
Knowledge of metallurgy and thermomechanical processing.

Experience with titanium, nickel, and iron‑based alloys.
Background working within Aerospace, Power Generation, Nuclear, or similar high‑integrity sectors.

Experience with quality control and inspection protocols.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
A collaborative and proactive approach.
Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Technology or similar. What’s in it for You?
