Graduate Building Services Engineer

Starting Salary: £30,000

This is a permanent position within Amey Consulting’s Consulting Buildings and Property team.

• Assist in the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
• Design and model HVAC, lighting, power, and water systems using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Carry out technical analysis, including engineering calculations (load analysis, pipe stress) and energy modelling.
• Provide site support, including site visits, surveying conditions, and observing commissioning/installation to monitor progress.
• Coordinate with architects, clients and structural engineers to integrate services into building designs.
• Research and apply low‑carbon solutions and energy‑efficient technologies.
• Assist with technical reports, project specifications, and cost estimations.
• Perform general office duties associated with the smooth running of a consulting business.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of CAD/BIM software (Revit, IES, TAS, AutoCAD).
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, teamwork and communication skills.
• Interest or understanding of building performance, energy management and sustainability.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and awareness of supplier services.
• Full UK driving licence.
