ELECTRONICS TEST ENGINEER

  • £340 per day (via Umbrella) | Initial 6-month contract
  • SC Clearance required or eligibility to obtain
  • Full-time onsite role in Portsmouth working within a high-tech engineering environment
  • Hands-on testing role involving RF systems, troubleshooting, and quality inspection
ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a leading engineering organisation delivering complex technology solutions across secure and highly regulated environments. They specialise in advanced systems integration and testing, supporting large-scale programmes across multiple sectors. Due to increased project demand, they are now looking for an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to join their team.

THE ELECTRONICS TEST ENGINEER ROLE

As an Electronics Test Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and configuring test equipment, executing system and subsystem testing, and ensuring performance aligns with technical specifications. You will support test facility preparation, carry out sensor calibration, and produce detailed test documentation and reports.

You will also perform first-level quality inspections, troubleshoot faults, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure efficient resolution of issues and successful test completion.

ELECTRONICS TEST ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Experience in electronics or systems testing within an engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of system testing methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum analysers, RF simulators)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose faults effectively
  • Experience with calibration, instrumentation, and test setups
  • Strong documentation skills (test reports, procedures, defect tracking)
  • Ability to manage workload and track issues through to resolution
