This is an exciting time to join the team as we step up operations in new countries and commence work on new and challenging projects. As a result of this growth, we are looking to recruit an EHS Advisor.
The EHS Advisor will provide professional environmental, health & safety (EHS) advice, guidance, and support to construction project teams across the South of England and Midlands regions as well as visiting existing Data Centres to conduct site visits, reports and audits. The EHS Advisor will promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Management- Provide competent advice on all EHS matters to site and project management teams.
- Support the implementation of the company’s EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations to ensure safe working practices are maintained.
- Assist project teams in preparing risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work.
- Monitor and report EHS performance indicators; contribute to monthly and project reporting.
- Lead or assist in accident and incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and follow‑up actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings to staff and subcontractors.
- Promote behavioural safety and wellbeing initiatives across sites.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, site waste management plans, and sustainability goals.
- Monitor site environmental performance, including waste segregation, spill control, noise, and dust management.
- Support environmental audits and improvement initiatives.
- Stay up to date with changes in UK EHS legislation and industry best practice (CDM 2015, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc).
- Support external audits, client inspections, and regulatory visits.
- Champion a culture of safety ownership across the workforce.
- Conduct regular site inspections in live data centre environments, including electrical rooms, plant areas, and contractor work zones.
- Support permit‑to‑work systems, including electrical safety, LOTO, confined spaces, and contractor controls.
- Provide guidance on electrical safety, critical infrastructure protection, and safe systems of work.
- Identify security or safety‑related concerns impacting people or client infrastructure and report appropriately.
- Support the development, implementation, and testing of emergency response plans.
- Coordinate and participate in emergency drills with site teams and external responders.
- Ensure first aid, fire safety, and emergency arrangements remain compliant and effective.
- Support and conduct internal EHS audits and site compliance inspections.
- Assist with client, regulatory, and certification audits as required.
- Monitor changes in country‑specific legislation and support implementation across sites.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- IOSH membership (Tech IOSH or above).
- Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points) and willingness to travel across the South and Midlands. Occasional travel within the EU.
- CSCS Card.
- NEBOSH/IOSH Diploma or working towards it.
- First Aid at Work and Fire Warden certificates.
- Experience in a health & safety role within the UK construction industry.
- Strong working knowledge of UK EHS legislation and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Experience working on live construction sites (civils, commercial or infrastructure).
- Experience working on Data Centre construction sites a bonus.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
- Confident preparing reports and presenting findings to management.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to manage workload across multiple sites.
- Full‑time, Monday to Friday (some early starts/late finishes or overnight stays may be required).
- Regional travel to sites across the South of England and Midlands.
The role is a full‑time position and based in the United Kingdom, and will include business travel as needed to meet business demands but will likely be nominal.
