BIM MEP Technician

The Opportunity

Based in Leeds or Sheffield but working closely with teams across the UK and beyond, you will be part of a dynamic team working on diverse projects across various sectors. You will also have the opportunity to train and further develop your domain skills, including BIM and Digital.

• Assist setup and model management of project models in accordance with project standards.
• Support the MEP team in producing high‑quality, data‑rich 3D models and drawings — modelling a range of MEP services, including mechanical pipework, ventilation, lighting, power, containment and drainage.
• Take responsibility for specific aspects of BIM delivery and drawing packages on projects from concept through to completion.
• Support proactive coordination of all MEP services elements, liaise with Architecture and Structural teams, and ensure spacing for access, maintenance and buildability in accordance with project scope and agreed tolerances.
• Use Revit, Navisworks, Revizto+, ACC/Forma, BIM 360, BIMCollab, etc. for model creation, review, visual audit and clash detection.
• Mentor apprentices working within the BIM environment and use Common Data Environments, ACC/Forma, BIM 360.
• Seek pragmatic digital solutions to improve working practices and support the project team with technical delivery using Revit.
• Deliver BIM in accordance with ISO 19650 and engage with Senior Technicians to support group development.

• BTEC ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent BIM qualification.
• Eng Tech qualification or working towards.
• Experience with in the building services industry (consultancy and/or contractor).
• Minimum 4 years experience using Revit MEP; good understanding of model and drawing production.
• Understanding of EIRs and BEPs, and ability to interpret and implement them.
• Aware of using Navisworks/ACC for visual audits and clash detection.
• Experience preparing drawings and models with limited engineering input.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and routing/coordination to a design level of detail.
• Strong communication of technical issues to co‑professionals, contractors and clients.
• Proven success working in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.

• Experience with ACC/Forma, BIM 360 collaboration tools.
• Understanding of coordination and installation to construction level of detail.
• Familiarity with BS EN ISO 19650 standards.
• Sector experience across various industries.
• Experience in multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Revit family creation and maintenance experience (data exchange).
• Programming experience with Dynamo, Python, etc.
