The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Sheffield. The role will involve working on a wide range of rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated mechanical components, both in the workshop and occasionally on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strip, inspect, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment

* Carry out fault finding, diagnosis, and remedial work

* Mechanical fitting, alignment, and testing of equipment

* Working to technical drawings and engineering standards

* Ensure quality and health & safety standards are met at all times

* Occasional site work to support installations or urgent repairs

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter working with rotating machinery

* Strong understanding of pumps, gearboxes, motors, and associated systems

* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

* Apprentice trained or relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC)

* Full UK driving licence preferred

* Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
