Job Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician (EOT) to support on‑site operations at an AWS data centre in the UK. The role focuses on maintaining electrical, mechanical and safety equipment with high uptime requirements.

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power installs, rack PDU and rack ATS replacements.
• Provide support to Data Centre Operations technicians.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Adhere to all safety procedures when performing work.
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
• Use internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare‑part inventory.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off‑hour emergency calls per on‑call rotation.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.

• Experience in relevant work.
• Capability to bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
• Ability to manipulate small wires and objects with hands.
• Ability to walk on job sites with uneven terrain.
• Experience working at heights and from ladders.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of network design and layout, including low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
• Experience in data centre engineering.
• Capability to perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.
