Technical Sales Engineer

£28,000 – £33,000 DOE
Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Our client, a well-established and highly respected steel processing and profiling business based in Sheffield, is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a technical or engineering background who enjoys building customer relationships, developing business, and managing projects from enquiry through to delivery.

Working closely with customers and internal departments, you will be responsible for managing and growing an existing customer base while proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities.

• Managing customer enquiries via phone and email
• Preparing quotations and processing orders
• Building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Supporting customers with technical queries and project requirements
• Liaising with internal departments including CAD, Production and Accounts
• Following projects through from initial enquiry to final delivery
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities
• Maintaining high levels of customer service and account management

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• A proactive, positive, and self-motivated attitude
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous sales experience would be beneficial but is not essential
• Previous experience within steel profiling, laser cutting, plasma cutting, flame cutting, waterjet cutting, or metal processing would be advantageous
• CAD knowledge would be beneficial
• A willingness to learn and develop within a technical sales environment
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic are valued more highly than industry experience

Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

• Salary of £23,000 – £35,000+ depending on experience
