Contract Role

We're working with a leading renewable energy contractor delivering utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Solar Estimator to support bidding and pre-construction activities.

As a Solar Estimator, you will be responsible for building detailed cost estimates and supporting tender submissions across a portfolio of solar PV projects.

• Preparing detailed EPC cost estimates for utility-scale solar projects
• Reviewing tender documents, RFPs and technical specifications
• Carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings (civil, electrical and structural)
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Building and maintaining cost models and pricing databases
• Identifying risks and applying appropriate contingencies
• Supporting bid submissions and commercial proposals
• Contributing to value engineering and cost optimisation strategies

Experience estimating for solar PV projects (utility-scale preferred). Strong understanding of EPC project delivery. Background in electrical, civil, or quantity surveying disciplines. Proven ability to build detailed cost models in Excel. Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors. Strong commercial awareness and risk understanding.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope or similar tools
• Experience working on projects 10MW+

This role is offered on a CIS basis (Construction Industry Scheme).
