Senior Engineer Location – Sheffield

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer has arisen within Galliford Try’s Infrastructure Business. Working on our £15m Sheffield town improvements project, you will take responsibility for the setting out, engineering control and quality in addition to coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team.

What you will be doing:
  • Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
  • Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resources.
  • Write and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure implementation including correct engineering checks, hold points, inspections and tests.
  • Manage the site engineering team including mentoring junior members of staff and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW), Project Works Information and drawings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely records are kept including site diaries, quality assurance documentation, photos, as-built surveys, red-line drawings and test results.
  • Maintain constant communication with the commercial team, providing detailed information to allow for accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations on site.
About you:
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  • SMSTS and relevant CSCS card.
  • Ability and desire to work safely and create a safe working environment.
  • Advanced setting out techniques and able to use Lebel and ADM with knowledge of GPS preferred.
  • Proven leadership and delegation skills.
