About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to join the Construction Strategy Team, delivering critical equipment investments across major UK electricity transmission programmes.

You will take ownership of multiple projects covering the procurement, manufacture, delivery and handover of high-value, long-lead equipment. Working with the Senior Project Manager, engineering specialists, original equipment manufacturers and key stakeholders, you will guide projects from development and sanction through tendering, delivery, testing, commissioning and close-out.

The role directly supports the timely supply of essential equipment for the transmission investment portfolio for T3 and beyond. It offers broad exposure across commercial management, global supply chains, manufacturing assurance, logistics, project governance and regulated infrastructure delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a portfolio of equipment procurement and delivery projects through pre-construction, sanction, execution and close-out in line with the Network Development Process.
  • Manage project performance across scope, programme, cost, quality, risk, budget and governance.
  • Act as NEC Project Manager, or equivalent, maintaining contractual compliance and effective delivery assurance.
  • Support contracting strategy, tendering and the development of clear, robust Works Information.
  • project assessment.
  • Provide regular project status reports giving accurate financial forecasting, SHESQ performance, milestone progress & risk management data
  • Act as/support the NEC Project Manager (or equivalent for other contract types).
  • Drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction through positive engagement working pro-actively to avoid issues. Supported by a matrix organisation manage third party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations, and local community stakeholder relationships to preserve the clientsreputation.
  • Where relevant, effectively lead, manage and co-ordinate the preparation & submission of a compliant Development Consent Order (DCO) application.
  • Coordinate equipment allocation across projects to improve delivery certainty, optimise portfolio use and minimise storage requirements.
  • Manage OEM contractors, logistics providers and global supply-chain requirements.
  • Oversee contractor delivery, site compliance, factory acceptance testing and manufacturing assurance.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships and provide clear reporting, forecasting and performance updates.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM, SHESQ, safety, environmental, regulatory and organisational requirements.
