Want to work on structures that genuinely challenge you as an engineer? I'm recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join an established consultancy in Sheffield, working on an impressive portfolio of projects across the UK.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to develop beyond simply producing calculations. You'll be exposed to complex engineering problems, take greater ownership of your designs and work alongside experienced Chartered Engineers who can help you progress your career.
You'll work across a varied mix of new-build and refurbishment projects, with experience spanning high-rise residential and student accommodation, commercial developments, complex existing structures and major regeneration schemes.
Projects can involve everything from reinforced concrete and steel frames through to challenging foundations, long spans, cantilevers and the assessment and adaptation of existing buildings.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Take ownership of structural design packages and see your work through the project lifecycle
- Design in steel, reinforced concrete and other structural materials
- Work on technically challenging new-build and refurbishment schemes
- Collaborate directly with architects, contractors and clients
- Gain exposure to larger and more complex projects as you develop
- Learn from experienced Chartered Structural and Civil Engineers
- Develop towards Chartership with support and mentoring around you
For the right engineer, the biggest attraction here is progression. You'll be joining a team where professional development is actively encouraged and where engineers can build both their technical ability and their level of responsibility.
There's also genuine variety. You could be solving the structural challenges of a high-rise development on one project and working out how to sensitively adapt an existing or historic structure on the next.
If you're a Structural Engineer who enjoys solving problems, wants greater responsibility and is looking for a consultancy where you can continue developing towards Senior Engineer and Chartered status, this could be an excellent next step.
