Finance Manager​/Qualified Accountant

We are a Sheffield based start-up providing expert engineering consultancy to a variety of clients and industries. We primarily focus on engineered product design, and work in a range of industries and contexts from biotech and medtech to water and heavy industry. We have a focus on ethical and sustainable delivery, but that means more to us than just bamboo straws and tote bags - we choose to work on projects that matter, work to deliver the best solution for our clients no matter what, and commit to doing so without compromising our values.

You’ll lead our finance function day‑to‑day, delivering accurate monthly results and insights that guide strategic decisions.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, running a tight month‑end close, and driving process improvements in a high‑growth environment. Key attributes include:

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with 2‑5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Ambitious, proactive, and excited by the prospect of radical growth. We're not interested in status‑quo accounting.
• Demonstrable ownership of management accounts, statutory reporting, and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Strong systems orientation – you can optimise Xero (or similar) and implement smarter reporting.
• A commercial mindset: you translate numbers into actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.
• A proactive operator who spots inefficiencies and leads change.
