Business Services Manager – Up to £60,000 + DOE

A leading accountancy practice in Brighton is seeking an experienced and ambitious Business Services Manager to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to take the next step in their career, delivering high-quality support to a varied portfolio of clients while playing a key role in business growth and development.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio of clients, supporting them with a wide range of accounting and tax services. This is a varied and rewarding position offering real scope for progression, including opportunities to contribute to business development and strategic advisory work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including preparation of accounts and corporation tax returns.
  • Overseeing self-assessment and partnership tax returns.
  • Providing commercial business support and advisory services.
  • Handling company secretarial matters (e.g., confirmation statements).
  • Supervising and reviewing work of junior staff.
  • Advising on tax-advantaged share schemes (e.g., EMI) and venture capital reliefs (EIS/SEIS).
  • Preparing R&D and creative industry tax relief claims.
  • Participating in business development and client engagement initiatives.
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong background in practice, with solid technical knowledge across accounting and tax.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • Confident managing a varied portfolio and mentoring junior team members.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong IT proficiency and comfortable using cloud-based systems.
