We have a fantastic opportunity for an Management Accountant to join our Sheffield Highways PFI contract at Amey Olive Grove Depot, Olive Grove Rd, Lowfield, Sheffield S2 3GE
– This role will be hybrid working.
The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

We’re looking for a talented and proactive management accountant looking for their next move in their career to join our Finance team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious to join a dynamic and forward thinking Finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager for the Sheffield Highways PFI contract, you will play a significant part in managing the financial reporting processes for the contract, delivering high quality information to tight deadlines. You will support the Finance Manager in the preparation of management information for the senior leadership team and financial planning activities to support successful decision making.
What you will do:- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Variance analysis of actual performance including cost reconciliations and analysis of profit variances
- Supporting business budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow
- Revenue recognition and WIP reconciliation
- Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
- Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations, along with identification of and dealing with potential issues
- Business partnering with overhead functions to support management of cost base
- Ad-hoc financial analysis to support business strategy and performance
- Preparation of information and liaising with Group Finance and external auditors as required
- Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
- Experience of business partnering
- Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements, experience of working with IFRS
15 would be of distinct advantage - Organisation and planning skills, with ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of a relevant accounting system, SAP preferred but not critical
- Experience of working within an Infrastructure environment, specifically Highways, Rail or Construction would be of distinct advantage
