Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional looking to join a fast‑paced and growing organisation, offering exposure across the wider business alongside genuine opportunities for progression.
The RoleReporting directly into the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting operational decision making across the business.
Key responsibilities- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting commentary.
- Accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple departments.
- Producing variance analysis and investigating key business trends.
- Working closely with operational and production teams to provide financial insight.
- Monitoring stock, labour, and manufacturing costs within the business.
- Supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects and process efficiencies across finance.
- Supporting audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements where required.
- Be ACCA / CIMA qualified, part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Have previous experience within management accounts in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Be organised, detail‑oriented, and commercially aware.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Be proactive with a positive and adaptable approach to work.
- Salary between £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
