Sue Ross Recruitment are pleased to be working with a Sheffield-based business who are seeking a Finance Manager.
We're looking for a highly capable Finance Lead to take ownership of our financial processes, ensure the accuracy of our systems, and act as the in‑house expert for Sage 200. This is a key role within a growing business, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being the go‑to person for all things finance and systems.
You’ll manage cash flow, month‑end reporting, and system integrity, while supporting the wider team with compliance and administration. If you’re methodical, proactive, and confident working across both office and warehouse environments, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing- Sage 200 System Ownership – Input and maintain financial data, assist with system setup, and support all departments in using Sage 200 correctly.
- Financial Reporting – Manage P&L reporting, reconcile the Trial Balance, and produce monthly management accounts.
- Supplier & Invoice Management – Contact suppliers for statements, chase missing invoices, and maintain accurate purchase records.
- Credit Control & Cash Flow – Oversee customer and dealer credit control, ensuring timely payments and strong cash flow.
- Month‑End Close – Complete reconciliations, post journals, and ensure the bank is fully reconciled each month.
- Business Administration – Support insurance, financing, and general administrative duties.
- VAT & Tax Support – Assist external accountants with VAT returns and tax matters.
- Audit Preparation – Ensure the company is fully prepared for yearly trading audits.
- Document Control – Maintain organised filing of financial and despatch paperwork.
- General Duties – Support the business with additional tasks as required.
- Process‑driven and methodical
- Comfortable working across both office and warehouse environments
- A supportive team player who enjoys working in a small, close‑knit group
- Self‑motivated, hardworking, and capable of managing your own workload
- Sage 200 experience (essential)
- At least 5 years' experience in a finance department
- Relevant professional qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
- Strong experience in month‑end closing and management accounts
