Hours: 0.6 WTE permanent or fixed term (some flexibility in hours may be possible, secondment considered)
Salary: Band 8a - £55,690 to £62,682 per annum pro rata dependent on experience
The University of Sheffield Clinical Psychology Training Programme (in collaboration with Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) is seeking an experienced clinical psychologist with an interest in training and developing aspiring clinical psychologists to join the existing programme team as a clinical tutor.
You will be joining an established and enthusiastic team at an exciting time of growth and development. The clinical tutor role involves teaching, tutoring and supporting trainees enrolled on the 3-year DClinPsy programme along with contributing to the line management of trainees and other programme activities.
Main duties of the jobTogether with the Director of Clinical Practice and other clinical tutors in post, the appointee will have responsibility for organising and overseeing the clinical practice elements of training, ensuring the full involvement of clinical supervisors and service managers, as well as contributing to the line management of the trainees alongside a dedicated operational manager.
The job also includes contributing to teaching, tutoring, assessment, selection and supervisor training. The appointee may also have a role in leading on an aspect of the programme and/or a development project.
Visiting and supporting trainees on placement is a key aspect of the job and the post-holder will be required to travel within and outside the region as necessary. The programme base is in the centre of Sheffield, very close to public transport links, and a 10-15 mins walk from Sheffield railway station.
About usThe course is based within the Clinical and Applied Psychology Unit in the Department of Psychology, which has an excellent research record. The Unit also trains high and low intensity Talking Therapies staff and Education Mental Health Practitioners. It has good links with surrounding clinical psychology training programmes and with practitioners in the Region. Trainees and tutors are employed within the Psychological Services directorate of Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

6). Responsible for facilitation and monitoring of placements and the development of trainees, contributing to selection, recruitment and placement allocation and liaison with placement supervisors. Responsible for contributing to the line management of a group of trainees along with a dedicated operational manager.
