Are you an experienced HCPC-registered Paramedic seeking greater clinical autonomy and varied frontline exposure?

Echo Fire and Medical Ltd is a CQC-registered independent ambulance provider delivering NHS-commissioned 999 emergency response services. We are recruiting full-time Paramedics to join our Sheffield base, working across frontline 999 response, critical care transfers and high-profile operational deployments.

You will respond to live NHS 999 calls on behalf of the ambulance service, delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care within a strong clinical governance framework aligned to NHS standards. This role suits confident clinicians comfortable making autonomous decisions in dynamic environments.

Alongside frontline response, you will also support specialist deployments at major national events and high-profile productions.

We utilise ZOLL X-Series cardiac monitoring technology and expect high standards of clinical reasoning, documentation and professional accountability.

Salary is competitive and reflective of experience, with 28 days annual leave, NEST pension scheme and overtime opportunities, including enhanced rates on selected bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

As a Paramedic, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of operational deployments from our Sheffield base.

You will respond to NHS 999 emergency calls, undertake urgent and critical care transfers, and support specialist deployments. You will assess, treat, stabilise and safely convey patients in line with national clinical guidelines, exercising advanced clinical judgement and professional accountability.

The role includes delivering outstanding clinical care, completing accurate and contemporaneous Patient Report Forms (PRFs), communicating effectively with patients and multidisciplinary partners, and actively engaging in clinical governance, audit and reflective practice.

Experienced clinicians will also be expected to support the development of junior staff and Newly Qualified Paramedics, offering mentorship, constructive feedback and professional guidance to help build confident and clinically sound practitioners.

You will contribute positively to team performance, operational readiness and patient safety, while maintaining high professional standards across all deployments.

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose

To deliver safe, effective and patient-centred pre-hospital care across NHS-commissioned 999 emergency response services and specialist operational deployments.

The post holder will operate as an autonomous HCPC-registered Paramedic within their scope of practice, maintaining high standards of clinical care, documentation, professionalism and governance. The role also includes supporting the development of Newly Qualified Paramedics and other clinicians through positive role modelling and constructive guidance.

Clinical Responsibilities

Respond to NHS 999 emergency calls on behalf of the ambulance service.

Undertake comprehensive patient assessment, clinical examination and formulation of appropriate care plans.

Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with JRCALC guidance and organisational policies.

Manage a wide range of medical, trauma and time-critical presentations within scope of practice.

Determine appropriate conveyance and non-conveyance decisions, clearly documenting clinical rationale.

Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary professionals.
