Responsibilities
- Use 7 MR scanners (6x Siemens 1.5T and a Philips 3T, with some extended work on GE scanners) across 3 hospital sites operating 7 days a week.
- Work flexibly – weekday, weekend and out of hour duties, including participation in the on‑call rota.
- Perform a wide range of MR examinations: specialist Neurological (including fMRI), Cardiac (including stress), Vascular, MSK, GI, GU, ENT, Gynaecology, oncology, obstetric, MRI under GA, MRI on pacemaker patients and MRI Radiotherapy planning.
- Support and develop clinical trials and work with a dedicated MR physics team and 3D imaging Laboratory radiographers.
- Assist with onboarding new staff, training and developing trainee MRI radiographers, alongside advanced clinical practitioner roles in Cardiac stress imaging.
- Cover 1‑2 on‑call shifts in every 5‑week rota after an induction period.
- Applicants will have a DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or the UK equivalent and HCPC registration.
- Proven MRI skills and NHS experience desirable.
- Good communication skills, ability to multi‑task and work as part of our existing team.
- IV cannulation training provided alongside a comprehensive induction package.
- Post‑graduate education is encouraged.
- Based with MR, rotational across all 3 sites within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
- 37.5 hours per week, over 3 days, including weekends.
- Participation on the MR on‑call rota out of hours is expected after an induction period – cover 1 to 2 on‑call shifts in every 5‑week rota.
- Commitment to training and staff development; opportunities to work with MR physics team, 3D imaging laboratory radiographers and advanced clinical practitioners.
- Practice Educators assist with onboarding new staff and training and developing trainee MRI radiographers.
- Post‑graduate education encouraged.
