The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high‑quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. Grace Eyre is looking for a Team Leader to join our Choices Team in Brighton and Hove in our 24/7 service. In this service we are looking for someone who can promote independence, choice, and inclusion for the people we support and shares that vision with the service.

We’re seeking a confident and proactive leader with a background in social care, passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people. They will need to be organised, resilient, and great at problem‑solving, passionate about inclusion, respecting individual rights, and assisting the people we support to take control of their own lives. As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the people we support receive high‑quality, person‑led support. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will:

• Lead and inspire a team of Support Workers to provide consistent, person‑centred support.
• Build and manage staff rotas to ensure support hours meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Oversee service quality, including regular reviews with the people we support and their circles of support.
• Recruit and supervise staff who reflect Grace Eyre’s values and commitment to inclusive practice.
• Ensure the smooth-running of 24/7 services and carry out regular audits.
• Work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and sleep‑ins where required, as part of the rota.

This is a hands‑on leadership role — you’ll work directly alongside the people we support, modelling great support and enabling independence and inclusion. In this role you will be working with families also, so you will need to have good communication skills and prioritise tasks daily.

The people we support would like: I want a person who works in the service to be kind, friendly and can help me become more independent in my life and come up with new community ideas to help me socialise and make friends. I want someone who will treat me like an adult and listen to me and work with me reaching my targets and goals in life.
