Requirements

Your Role as a Support Worker within Learning Disabilities Services:

  • Assist with the care and support of our Young People aged 16 to 25 whilst ensuring that a homely environment is maintained.
  • Contributing to meeting each individuals physical, emotional, social and educational needs.
  • Build positive relationships with the young people and support withtheir development – whilst ensuring that they are keptsafe.
  • Work within a Multi-disciplinary Team to advocate for each individuals needs.
  • Provide positive and meaningful life experiences for the young people todevelop their skills and self-esteem.
  • Provide calm and safe responses when Young people are unable to.
  • Workin a Multi- disciplinary Team to provide a nurturing environment in which young people can develop and thrive.
  • Promote independence through care and support with daily tasks such ascooking, travel etc.
  • Complete key work responsibilities and maintain young people’sfiles.
Our Ideal Candidate Should
  • Bewilling to work towards or already hold a Level 3 Children Residential Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
  • Havea passion to work with young people who sometimes demonstrate behaviours that challenge.
  • Havea genuine desire to improve lives and promote self-esteem.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and empathy.
  • Staycalm under pressure and work flexibly.
  • Havean awareness of this client group and able to work on initiative, whilst also possessing a sense of resilience.
  • Be flexible to work across all different shift patterns for example“Waking nights, day shift and sleep in shifts where applicable”.
