Female Support Worker required to support a delightful young adult with a Learning Disability and Cerebral Palsy, living in Shropshire.
Client is 20 years old, lives in a self‑contained annexe next door to her family. You will provide all care in her home environment and community, including feeding via PEG, medication management, communication support using Makaton, and safe mobilisation supervision.
We are looking for an adventurous, mischievous, and good communicator with a passion for helping a young person. You should have a high level of initiative and self‑autonomy, and be able to provide a high standard of care, therapy and social opportunities.
You will work as part of a team supporting the client, ensuring safety and physical well‑being, and facilitating her regular therapy and community participation. One support worker role available.
Working hoursContracted hours: 28 per week with a set rota, plus additional hours to cover leave, school holidays and holiday accompaniment. Detailed shift patterns are available on request.
Typical shifts:
- Weekends and school holidays: 8:15 am – 8:15 pm and 8:15 pm – 8:15 am (sleeping nights)
- Monday–Friday (term time): 3:45 pm – 10:15 pm and 10:15 pm – 9:15 am (sleeping nights)
Our client seeks someone who is well‑organised and flexible.
Pay rates- Weekdays: £15.50 rising to £16.00 per hour after probation
- Weekends: £17.50 rising to £18.00 per hour after probation
- Bank holidays: £21.50 rising to £22.00 per hour after probation
- Sleeping nights (weekdays): £13.50 per hour
- Holiday accompaniment:
National Living Wage £12.71 per hour
Candidate will have a patient, warm and caring nature, confidence in using IT such as email and electronic record‑keeping, and a full driving licence.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. If not, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
Experience with Makaton and/or PEG feeding, water confidence and physical fitness are desirable.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring and full training will be provided.
