Physiotherapist

Overview

Provide physiotherapy intervention to patients referred into the department, prioritise physiotherapy referrals to implement effective and timely caseload management and determine clinical diagnosis and provide physiotherapy treatment, developing appropriate packages of care. Give specialist clinical/professional advice to patients, carers and other Health Care Professionals, and support and teach junior staff and students.

• Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs.
• Formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes, ensuring effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge.
• Ensure ongoing monitoring of the standard of treatment provided.
• Ensure compliance with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.
• Support the Physiotherapy Manager in developing all aspects of the department service and training delivery.
• Engage with consultants and other referrers to maximise the number of referrals and grow your practice.
• Utilise working hours with full clinical treatments where possible.
• Support external events and clubs to further the Physiotherapy Department’s business plan when appropriate.
• Ensure the procedures for referring patients to and from the clinic are always followed correctly.
• Maintain all clinical records accurately and in accordance with legal requirements.
• Embed Clinical Governance and risk management within daily practice.
• Provide and receive patient information in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
• Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

• Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
• HPC registered.

• Professional assessor role.
• Evidence of substantial CPD in management and other clinically related and relevant subjects.
• Previous experience working in the private healthcare sector.
• Previous experience managing clinical audits.
• Ability to analyse physiotherapy management problems and identify viable solutions.
• Ability to work as a practitioner in and across multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Ability to apply clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.
