We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Note-Taker to support a visually impaired student studying Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University.
This role involves attending lectures, seminars, and some practical teaching sessions, taking accurate notes and providing them in an accessible electronic format. Support will be delivered through a combination of in-person attendance and remote note-taking.
No previous note-taking experience is required. The successful candidate will receive full training and ongoing support.
This position would suit students, graduates, aspiring healthcare professionals, individuals interested in disability support, or anyone with strong written communication skills and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do- Attend lectures, seminars, and learning sessions.
- Produce clear, accurate, and well-organised notes.
- Record key information, discussions, demonstrations, and learning points.
- Submit notes within agreed timescales.
- Work professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with the student and support provider.
- Adapt note-taking methods to meet the needs of a visually impaired student using assistive technology.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent written English.
- Has good spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
- Is organised and reliable.
- Can attend scheduled teaching sessions.
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Word and email.
- Is willing to learn and undertake training.
No prior note-taking experience is necessary.

Full training, mentoring, and guidance will be provided to help you develop the specialist skills needed for the role.
