We are looking for an enthusiastic, practical and collaborative Employee Wellbeing Officer to help strengthen wellbeing and employee engagement across Sheffield City Council.

Working within the Employee Engagement, Inclusion and Wellbeing Team, you will promote the Council’s wellbeing offer and deliver campaigns, events, workshops and resources that support employees’ physical, mental and social wellbeing. You will help turn our People Strategy, Council Equality Objectives, organisational values and employee voice commitments into visible action across the organisation.

This is a varied role with the opportunity to work with colleagues, managers, trade unions, partners and specialist services to improve employee experience, build resilience and support a healthier workplace.

What you will do:

• Promote the Council’s employee wellbeing offer and increase awareness, participation and engagement.
• Plan and deliver targeted wellbeing campaigns, events, workshops and preventative initiatives.
• Coordinate the annual Employee Wellbeing Calendar, aligned with equality, diversity and inclusion priorities.
• Develop accessible resources, guidance and communications for employees and managers.
• Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Council’s wellbeing strategy, programmes and service offer.
• Use consultation, feedback, research and workforce data to identify priorities and develop practical interventions.
• Monitor participation, outcomes and impact, producing clear reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Manage wellbeing projects and programme work streams from planning through to evaluation.
• Work with services to understand their needs and translate these into effective, proportionate wellbeing support.
• Build productive relationships with colleagues across the Council, trade unions, public health partners, health organisations and other external partners.
• Provide informed advice and contribute to policies, procedures and guidance that improve the wellbeing and experience of the workforce.
• Support wider People and Organisational Culture projects and help embed the cultural themes of keeping people safe, developing people, recognising people and listening to people.
• Contribute to improved employee wellbeing, morale, resilience and organisational performance, including work to reduce avoidable sickness absence.

About you:

You will have knowledge and experience of employee wellbeing, health promotion, engagement or a related professional area. You will combine sound judgement with the ability to turn evidence and ideas into practical, inclusive activity.

You will bring:

• Experience of developing and delivering wellbeing initiatives, campaigns, projects or programmes.
• The ability to analyse and interpret data, trends, feedback, risk and organisational intelligence.
• Strong project-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed timescales.
• Excellent communication and engagement skills, including the ability to present information clearly to different audiences.
• The ability to develop effective working relationships with managers, employees, trade unions, partners and external organisations.
• Confidence in researching issues, producing reports and making evidence-based recommendations.
• A proactive and improvement-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
