They are looking for an IT Apprentice who is enthusiastic, curious, and genuinely passionate about technology.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate is eager to learn, motivated to tackle real‑world IT challenges, and ready to develop skills through hands‑on experience. The successful apprentice will join a supportive and friendly technical team, made up of experienced engineers who share knowledge openly and collaborate closely. This team provides a strong learning environment, helping apprentices grow while delivering remote and onsite support, cloud services, security solutions, migrations, and more.
Hero IT Support offers structured training combined with practical experience, giving apprentices exposure to everything from day‑to‑day support tasks to involvement in wider technical projects such as cloud migrations, VoIP systems, backup solutions, and business IT implementations. This blend of support and training helps build a solid foundation for a long‑term career in IT.
A Typical Day in the Job- Setting up client accounts and passwords using Windows Group Policy Management for Office 365.
- Communicating via email, telephone, and face‑to‑face interactions to offer technical advice and guidance on‑site.
- Using the ticketing system to guide clients through issue resolution and adhere to 2‑hour critical and 8‑hour response SLAs.
- Leveraging troubleshooting tools like Advanced IP Scanner, Power Shell, and Sara Tools to work through scripts for Windows issues, and Microsoft problems.
- Performing stress tests and diagnostics when receiving or ordering equipment, ensuring everything operates flawlessly before deployment.
- Conducting cable tests and diagnostics to pinpoint issues with sockets or handsets, and testing firewalls to diagnose LAN or WAN problems.
- Configuring and installing hardware both virtually and physically.
- Can work well within a team and independently.
- Passionate about IT and technology.
- Experience with PC components in personal time.
- Ability to communicate well over the phone and face‑to‑face.
- Driving licence.
- Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & grade 5 in GCSE English.
- £18,000 per annum.
- 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Option to work on call with an extra £200 per week.

The Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. You’ll get hands‑on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. A unique curriculum and one‑to‑one support will accelerate your skills and give you the qualification and confidence to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real‑time classes with expert trainers and self‑paced courses created by industry specialists.
After successfully completing the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Level 4 qualification and further your career in IT support.
