Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: 3PL Specialist, AFSI Supply Chain

Amazon, Sheffield, England, United Kingdom

Description

Operations is the heart and soul of everything Amazon does. It is thanks to effective operations that items are processed and dispatched to our customers on time. As a 3PL Specialist or External Fulfillment Specialist you will be required to bridge the gap between Amazon Operations and that of the 3PL fulfillment centre.

Key job responsibilities
  • Measure and monitor workflows, track onsite performance of third party logistics (3PL)
  • Use data analysis to identify ways to optimize safety, quality and productivity
  • Resolution of operational problems in the flows to/from external service providers
  • Resolution of problems that may require working onsite as a supervisor or auditor of the operations
  • Act as a point of contact through the communication between Operations and related partners, such as Supply Chain, Retail and Transportation teams
A day in the life

You will have the opportunity to deal with daily tasks related to the 3PL’s performance and will also have the chance to work on ad‑hoc projects, new implementations and to draft ideas leading to optimization and streamlining. This will often require a deep dive of the issue to understand the root cause and work out the best solution for resolution, whether by using Amazon systems or by contacting the 3PL and asking them to support.

Effective communication is essential and can be at all levels within Amazon and the 3PL organization. It may also include carrying out joint projects, investigations and training in Amazon processes and tools.

About The Team

Customer Fulfilment (CF) is where it all started for Amazon. CF has scaled from a humble team of booksellers to a sophisticated global team that handles more than 1.5 million orders every day. The team is the foundation of our business and its efforts have helped us diversify across new regions and services. With emerging technology, we’re always looking for ways to offer a bigger, better product range – delivered quickly and affordably.

The CF team is the first link in the chain that helps customers get products at the speed Amazon is known for. We’re based in Fulfilment Centres, the heart of Amazon’s fast‑paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the ‘First Mile’ because it’s where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock.

Lots of different people work in our Fulfilment Centres, providing opportunities for every skill set, from physical product handling to data analysis to inform business decisions.
