Overview

Senior Performance Analyst at Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The closing date is 15 February 2026. This role involves using data to improve decision-making for patients and staff, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and presenting analytical insights.

We’re looking to appoint a Senior Performance Analyst to join our Performance and Analytics Team. It’s an exciting time as we leverage our new electronic patient record (EPR) system and a data warehouse alongside Power BI to become a more data-driven organisation. We offer training and on-the-job development, including Power BI, and a hybrid working model with travel to various clinical sites as required.

Interviews will be held on 16th, 17th & 18th March.

Main duties of the job

The Performance and Analytics Team at Sheffield Partnership:

  • ensures performance is measured, monitored and managed in all areas of the Trust in accordance with its Performance Improvement Framework;
  • provides the Trust and key partners with reporting, business intelligence and analytics services;
  • supports the Trust to understand clinical activity recorded in its electronic patient record (EPR) systems.

Senior Performance Analysts are specialists who use analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in data, reporting and performance. They convert data into actionable insight, supporting clinical and corporate colleagues to understand performance and opportunities to improve. They line manage a small number of Performance Analysts and contribute to the continuous learning and development culture of the team.

Job responsibilities
  • Observe and promote the Trust’s policies and procedures, including conduct, health and safety, and equality of opportunity.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, attending relevant events and learning from good practice elsewhere.
  • Deputise for Lead Performance Analysts and other Senior Performance Analysts as required.
  • Partner with stakeholders up to and including head of service level.
  • Effectively manage own workload, deadlines and priorities. Maintain an overview of Performance Analysts workload.
  • Manage competing demands and expectations of multiple stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant clinical and corporate services, stakeholders, processes and systems.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Trust’s organisational vision and values.
  • Contribute to Digital department plans in relation to performance, data reporting and analytics.
  • Participate in audits of the Performance Framework and other topics related to data, information, reporting and data analysis.
  • Advocate across the Trust for digital and data solutions where appropriate and proportionate.
  • Line management:
    Line manage a small number of Performance Analysts.
  • Support Performance Analysts to achieve objectives through supervision, coaching, mentoring and appraisals; manage performance and absence as required.
  • Reporting, Business Intelligence and Analytics:
    Support colleagues (up to head of service level) to make the best use of EPR data and performance information.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of data sources, data flows, architecture, data warehouse and tabular model, and benchmarking.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of NHS Performance Assessment Framework, contractual reporting requirements, CQC standards, and SHPU targets.
  • Proactively identify information reporting and analytics needs and add to the work plan.
