Role
Title:
Dev Ops Engineer - Open Shift CI/CD Automation
Duration: contract to run until 31/12/2026
Location:
Sheffield, hybrid 3 days per week onsite
Rate: up to £495.88 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Role purpose / summary
The Dev Ops Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on the bank's Open Shift platform. This role ensures seamless integration, efficient delivery, and compliance with security and regulatory standards across the enterprise.
Key Skills/ requirements
Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications on Open Shift.
Integrate pipelines with source control systems (e.g., Git Hub, Git Lab) and build tools.
Implement container image build, scanning, and deployment workflows.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery processes.
Optimize pipeline performance and reliability through automation and monitoring.
Manage pipeline configurations and troubleshoot build/deployment issues.
Ensure compliance with the bank's security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on Dev Ops best practices and emerging technologies.
Required
Skills & Experience:
Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools like Jenkins, Tekton, or Git Lab CI.
Hands-on experience with Open Shift and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and image registries.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Understanding of security best practices for Dev Ops and container environments.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
