Middle Office Business Analyst – Commodities & Energy Trading House | £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits | 3 days office, LDN

Business Analyst needed for a Commodities & Energy Trading House currently undergoing a technology landscape transformation. They are looking for key Business Analysts for long-term engagements to act as the bridge between front office traders and the development team.

This Middle Office Business Analyst role will focus on improving and evolving the front office derivatives trading capabilities. You’ll be working with users across the business and covering functionality across the full end-to-end trade lifecycle for both physical and derivatives trading.

As such, this Middle Office Business Analyst should have solid experience with SQL, prior hands-on exposure to middle office processes, and strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders such as risk managers and development teams.

Knowledge of middle office compliance is critical for this role, including a clear understanding of risk, settlements, and treasury functions. As a Business Analyst, you’ll be performing hands-on analysis of trading activity, gathering and shaping business requirements, and working with data generated from the middle office. You will also develop in-depth system and application knowledge to support change delivery and continuous improvement.

The business analyst will be responsible for defining and documenting requirements, proposing solutions, building consensus among stakeholders, and working closely with developers to deliver changes. Collaboration with middle office teams is essential to ensure that technology solutions align with business needs and regulatory requirements. This role also involves identifying improvements and recommending solutions to stakeholders. You will already have a strong relationship with business stakeholders and a track record of trust and successful delivery.

The team delivers change continuously, with multiple releases per week, and is now looking for a Business Analyst to join a collaborative team with growing responsibilities.

Salary: Up to £80,000 + Strong Bonus & Benefits

Location: Hybrid – 3 days in the office (London)

• Proven middle office experience, including risk, settlements, and treasury
• Experience working in Agile or Waterfall environments
• SQL proficiency and hands-on exposure to middle office processes
• Knowledge of middle office compliance, risk, settlements, and treasury
• Strong communication skills to liaise with risk managers and development teams
