Overview

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a Linux Engineer to join their dynamic technology team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where reliability, performance, and security are paramount. You will play a key part in supporting mission‑critical systems, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to the ongoing evolution of their infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and optimise Linux‑based systems across production and development environments.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support deployments and integrations.
  • Automate routine tasks and contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including patching and compliance monitoring.
  • Participate in on‑call support rotations and incident response activities.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and process improvements.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong proficiency in Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, or similar distributions).
  • Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of security practices within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented setting.
