The RoleWe’re looking for proactive and technically minded Freelance Event Technicians to join our team within the fast-paced automotive events industry.
As part of a leading driving experience provider, you’ll play a key role in delivering seamless event technology across some of the UK’s most prestigious race circuits, including Brands Hatch, Donington Park, and the iconic Top Gear Test Track.
This is a hands‑on, varied role combining IT support, event setup, and on‑site problem solving - perfect for someone who enjoys technology, travel, and working in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain event support rigs prior to deployment
- Set up and test all equipment on‑site ahead of each event
- Provide first‑line technical support for hardware and software issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly under pressure
- Support photography and in‑car video systems
- Windows laptops and desktops
- Networking equipment (switches, Wi‑Fi, POS systems)
- Printers and external storage devices
- Assist with additional event operations when required (e.g. media sales)
- Work independently while maintaining clear communication with the wider team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, ‘can‑do’ attitude
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)
- Familiarity with Wi‑Fi setup and connectivity
- Logical troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability
- Interest in photography and video systems
