Senior Technical Architect
Join DWP Digital’s rapidly expanding Architecture practice as a Senior Technical Architect, leading the design of secure, scalable and modern IT architecture that underpins some of the UK’s largest digital transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and govern architecture across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments, addressing networking, security, presentation, middleware, database and integration aspects.
- Apply architectural principles, patterns, technical radars, practices and standards to develop solutions.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams in agile, waterfall and hybrid settings throughout the full lifecycle, from concept to go‑live.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with traceable evidence for stakeholders.
- Model architecture using appropriate techniques and tools to devise clear representations.
- Design microservice and API‑led architectures, employing best practices for integration.
- Create event‑driven architecture solutions, including pub‑sub and data streaming patterns, modelling techniques, tools and standards.
- Extensive experience with architecture design across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, presentation, middleware, database and integration domains.
- Proficiency in architectural modelling techniques and tools.
- Experience in microservice and API‑led architecture design.
- Familiarity with event‑based architecture, pub‑sub and data streaming patterns.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholder groups.
Pay
: up to £83,917 per annum.
Pension
:
Civil service pension with 28.97% employer contributions.
Leave
: 26 days per year, rising to 31 days over time, plus up to three extra days off per month on flexi‑time. All public holidays included.
