Job Description

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Bank, is seeking an experienced Service Now Architect / Senior Engineer to support a critical Service Now transformation programme. This is an urgent requirement for a highly capable individual who can quickly integrate into the team, provide technical leadership, and deliver hands-on engineering and design expertise across the Service Now platform. The successful candidate will be a Senior technical specialist, comfortable operating in both architecture and engineering capacities, with the ability to define solutions and execute against them.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and technical design of Service Now solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with organisational objectives.
Produce, own, and maintain detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and associated technical documentation for Service Now implementations and enhancements.
Provide hands-on configuration, development, and implementation support across the Service Now platform when required.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and define, prioritise, and deliver improvements to the Service Now platform.
Ensure all technical solutions align with wider enterprise architecture standards and operational requirements, including resilience and performance expectations.
Support the migration, optimisation, and enhancement of existing Service Now capabilities to improve usability, stability, and value.
Act as a technical subject matter expert across Service Now-related initiatives, offering guidance, best practice advice, and technical leadership to colleagues and project teams.
Contribute to the definition and refinement of Service Now standards, patterns, and best practices within the organisation.
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure Service Now solutions meet Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and operational resilience requirements.

Essential Skills

Proven experience as a Service Now Architect or as a highly experienced Senior Service Now Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
Strong hands-on technical capability with the Service Now platform, including configuration, development, and implementation.
Demonstrable experience producing detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and clear technical documentation.
Deep understanding of Service Now architecture, configuration, implementation, and platform best practices.
experience working within complex enterprise environments, integrating Service Now with wider systems and processes.
Knowledge and practical experience of Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements and related operational resilience considerations.
Ability to quickly integrate into a team and operate effectively with minimal onboarding.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
